Soft/qualitative admission requirements for a program of study

Dear Forum

My client has numerous programs of study that have "soft" or "qualitative" admission requirements. Examples:

  • Knowledge of the English Language is preferred
  • Computer literacy must be adequate
  • Satisfactory knowledge of the English language is required
  • Must have computer literacy skills

Any ideas based on your experience on how such information can be captured and more importantly where it can be stored in the back end system without necessarily having to go through the Admission Requirement catalogs, requirements, subrequirements and audit processes?

Thanks in advance

Andreas

Hi Andreas;

This seems to me a perfect job for the admission audit icw the student master data/external achievements and external test (admission audit setup either via the requirement catalog or to make life easy for maintenance I would suggest to manage the requirements via the requirement templates).

So the admission audit requirements should be set on the program which subsequently should be fulfilled by the applicant student. The registration of the actual level of the required competency could potentially be saved on the External Achievements area of the master data of the student (either via a generic external school with lower level EQ's and SU's or as External Test.

Hope this helps.

Rob

Andreas,

    Based of my experience, I recommend to create a new info-type/sub-type and house these information per CS object. A lot a time, Admission department says this will just use for this purpose but later on when other department see these data they become part of their reporting need.
