Disaggregation in two directions

Hi everybody,

at a customer we got the following situation:

We have an Input Read Query on BW 7.4.

Frontend is Analysis for Office 1.4

The Query has in the rows a drill down over a hierachy on cost elements.

In the colums we have an actual colum on the prior full fiscal year.

We also have 13 Input ready columns for plan columns.

One for the full fiscal year, and one for each periods 1 to 12.

We use disaggregation to enter values on the full plan year and fill each period by equal distribution.

We want to use also the disaggregation to enter the values on hierachy nodes and not only on single cost elements with reference to the actual year.

The disaggregation according the periods works fine.

Example: This is what we got

CostElementActualPlan Total YearPlan Period 1Plan Period 2
Total Cost100120,  value entered1010
--- Cost Element 120403,33333,3333
--- Cost Element 2403,33333,3333
--- Cost Element 380403,33333,3333

This is what we want to have:

CostElementActualPlan Total YearPlan Period 1Plan Period 2
Total Cost100120, value entered1010
--- Cost Element 1202422
--- Cost Element 2
--- Cost Element 3809688

How can we achieve this?

The disaggregation according to the cost elements hierarchy works fine on period level, but not on total year level.

So if we enter i.e. the 10 on Plan Period 1 the values 2 and 8 are correctly derived.

Best regards

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I think it will not be possible only with disaggregation.

I would run a disaggregation according to actuals (on year level) and afterwards run a distribution function from year down to periods.

Hi Cornelia,

thanks very much for the input.

We discussed that with the customer and made the year-column to disaggregate with self reference.

Planvalues will be copied from last plan version und can be adjusted.

The period based columns got switched to equal distribution. But that only because there is some bug in Analysis, it crashes when more than a handfull columnes are set to self reference, BEx Analyzer workds fine with it.

Best regards

Daniel
