Hi,

1) GPF & PF : Both are savings & benefits plan (and applicable tax exemption under 80c) for employees but differs in applicability and % of contribution and body which maintains the fund. For GPF you can refer any govt web site.

2) ESI is a medical insurance benefit.

3) Professional tax - as per state govt rules (differs from state to state).

4) Grade pay - are you meaning minimum salary or pay band which is fixed for each grade or group of grades?

Suggested to refer Central govt web sites/policy manuals/rule books to get more clarification.

regards,

bala.
