Hello,
I have installed the new version of SAP GUI 7.4 with patch 4 on my computer and now I have several issues with developing Web Dynpro applications.
1. First I get this message when opening any view:
How can I tell which URL to add to compatibility view? I have added all known local addresses for the system that I know of, but still it pops up.
2. When I have a web dynpro with lots of elements which combined are larger than current display, the workbench does not display any scrollbars for navigating the view:
Did anyone experience similar issues?
Regards,
Miha
Hi Miha,
did you resolve your problem? How?
@Gabor Cseh: thanks for the SAP Notes
Strange case: my colleague has the same setup as me, but for him it works.
I rolled back to SAP GUI 7.30 PL15 and have the same issue.
When I open the SAP Authentification Dialog in IE11, it is setting Rendering mode to IE5 automatically: (F12 -> Emulation) If I manually set the mode to 10 or 11, I get the same poup as in View Designer (SE80).
SE80 WebDynpro View Designer
SAP Authentification Screen (IE 5 Document mode)
SAP Authentification Screen (IE 11/Edge Document mode)
Any hints?
I already included the company domain into the compatibility list in IE + set back IE Security settings to default.
Thanks
michael

Hello,
at the end it was resolved with OSS ticket. I think the basis team had to update unified rendering engine, but I am not sure what exactly they did as I am not part of that team and I never worked with this.
I think these notes were part of the solution:
Unified Rendering Notes - Which one to apply - Web Dynpro ABAP - SCN Wiki
2166892 - SE80: Preview for WDA views displayed with errors with IE11
Especially the last one 2166892 seemed to have done the trick. I didn't have to update anything on my client side, it all worked after this (the warning for compatibility was gone and scrollbars were displayed again).

Miha

Hi Miha,
We have faced the compatibility issue and we have resolved this by adding our companies registered SAP domain into the compatibility list of IE.
