Hi all,

I had a discussion with my team mate. The discussion on the custom sql. is it possible to use columns in custom sql regardless of the objects that are selected? My team mate was saying that we can use different columns in custom sql regardless of the objects selected on the universe but the datatype should match. This is what he states. Can someone please explain me is it possible or not?

Karthikeyan,

Help us understand what exactly you are trying to achieve here. Are you talking about Custom SQL being used for objects which intern are used within dashboards?

Hi Tejas,

My question is about custom sql. consider the following example..

I have selected or dragged 3 columns of varchar datatype.

3 columns are A,B,C

so, the relevant sql will be generated by the system.

My question is , Is it possible to use the custom sql with different columns with same datatype?

I want the custom sql to contain different columns , say D,E,F

Is this possible?

Hi all,

This actually works.

Basically, I can select any object in the query and can write the custom sql on my own with the respective datatype.

Thanks,

Karthik
