Hi,
We are still in planning phase for our SAP windows environment DR setup. One option is Site A(primary site) we have one CI host A(ABAP only) and DB on another host B. For failover we need to install same (export/import) of PN2 to Host A(virtual hostname) and DB on host B in DR location. DB will be synchronized using MS SQL replication method. We need to reinstall Site A CI with export/import method to use virtual hostname. When the Site A CI or DB goes down, then we bring the CI/DB from DR site since DB will be in sync. We want to use manual process to switch from primary to DR site. SAP is ABAP only system and it store all configurations in DB tables. We don't want to use local or shared cluster method for DR purpose. If you have any other options please feel free to share that will be great. Thanks, Vijay.
Hello Vijay,
You can check this link for win-sql platform.
Here are the notes for H/A or DR site configuration.
965908: SQL Server Database Mirroring and SAP Applications
493290: Configuring SQL server Log shipping
1772688: SQL Server AlwaysOn and SAP applications
You can built up disaster site by copying the primary system using database system copy method. You do not need to use export import method.
If your SAP_BASIS version suitable with SQL 2012 you can use always on also.
