I need help on mapping the SE01 segment on outbound X12 target document

I am trying to map Idoc = AFS/DELVRY04 to X12 856, the requirement is to send the a segment count between the ST and the SE ,

Has anyone done this in P.I. 7.3 Java Mapping? can you provide step by step instructions or documentation that reference this task.

Hi Keith,

Why do you do for a Java mapping? Why no graphical message mapping?

Or, in case of a dual stack, perhaps an ABAP mapping?

my apology, I we are using graphical message mapping.

have you had this issue before where you needed the SE01 total count?

how were you able to accomplish this in the graphical mapper?

Hi Keith

The SE01 field in the SE segment should be auto populated by the EDI converter module. You can try to just leave it blank, or put a dummy value. The example mappings shipped by SAP just put a placeholder value $B2B_SEG_COUNTER in that field.
