Create 4 DWS, one for each type of daily timings.

Group1_135

Group1_24

Group2_135

Group2_24

Create 2 PWS, each one spanning 5 weeks. In each of them, assign the relevant DWS(e.g. for Group 1, Group1_135 for all work days in the first, third & fifth week & Group1_24 for all work days in the 2nd & 4th week) based on the week.
Likewise for Group 2.

Hi Gautam,

Your proposed solution seems to be ok but it would require some amendments considering 4 weeks (or) 5 weeks in month, hence assigning exact work schedules will be difficult.

  1. As work schedule rule is mandatory to assign to employee in IT0007, you can assign work schedules which you will be proposing to your client.
  2. Keep a track record of employees actual shifts in the excel until employee completes working
    for week
  3. Once the employee completes a week, upload them using LSMW using IT2003, and system consider entries in IT2003 for the deviations, and your issue will be fixed.

Thank you

Yes, one correction to my earlier reply, you need only 3 DWS since for Group 2 there is just one.

Your config seems correct, except that for group 1, instead of PWS 1-5, create PWS1 spanning from week 1 to week 5.

For group 2, since there is only one DWS, create PWS2 spanning from week 1- 4(assuming the same weekly pattern repeats after week 4).

Recheck if PWS2 needs to span over 5 weeks or 4 weeks. If after 4 weeks, the same weekly pattern repeats itself, then 4 weeks suffice.

Hi Tania,

1st, 3rd and 5th week is working from Monday to Saturday for both (Group 1 and Group 2).

2nd and 4th week is working from Monday to Friday for both (Group 1 and Group 2).

So, shall i have 4 week pattern for both the Group instead of 5 week pattern? Plz let me know.

Thanks'

Gautam

You want to be careful here -

I do not believe these patterns always repeat over 5 weeks or 4 weeks. I believe this changes every month.

Some months have 5 weeks some months have 4 weeks.

What happens of th 5th week in month 1 overlaps into month 2 - does the entire week follow week 5 pattern, or does it start of week1 pattern in the middle of the week.

You may have to explore using a user exit to generate the Work Schedule rule properly - a simple repeating pattern may not suffice.

It's ok, keep it as a 5-week pattern. Create one new WSR. There will be two entries for this WSR, one for each ESG grouping. For the first ESG grping, assign PWS1, for the second, assign PWS2.

Hi,

You are not aware that every month would have the same week. It could be 5 weeks or 4 weeks.

I think it's not required to create a 5 week since 1st and 5th is common. So after 4 week pattern you can use 1st week pattern so flow will go same.

Check and let me know.

Start generate the WSR then you can get an idea clearly that how it is going?

Check August,September ,October month WSR patter.

Hi,

Its clearly that you have to go for 4 DWS since timing is different based upon the EE group.

DWS@135 for Group EE1

DWS@24   for Group EE1

DWS@531 for Group EE2

DWS@42  for Group EE2

Based upon the EE grouping pattern for week is differ based upon the DWS. So you have to go for two type of PWS. In the 1st PWS you will take a DWS@135 & DWS@24 for the week pattern and in the next PWS you will take a DWS@531 & DWS@42.

Sankarsan
