Hello Colleague,

We are in the process of Installation of HANA DB on Suse Linux SP 12 Server , We have  Allocated 30 Gb of RAM to this machine.

We are installing HANA Database of version " HANA Platform Edition 1.0 SP10 " .

We have started installation yesterday using  "hdblcmgui" , Because VM is on remote server i used Tight VNC viewer to connect to that server and start installation , today my VNC session got expired so i created an new session and when i execute "hdblcmgui" i am getting below configuration error.

Does the above message means the installation is under process , please help us in getting this done.

Hi Vardhan,

I would suggest to uninstall and reinstall the HANA instance. You have already cleared certain things from your previous installation which might have deleted certain files which are required to resume the installation. So to have clean DB, uninstall and reinstall back!

Hi Sri ,

I would better suggest to uninstall the Hana instancewhich would clear all things of previous installed Hana system and reinstall the hana system again. This would definitely solve the problem.

Hi,

Maybe some old directories exist. See 1910131 to remove them.

# 1910131 - SAP HANA system ID "" is already in use when using hdbaddhost

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the reply!!

As per note i have cleared all the SID and services , but still see the same error.

sgvm-s-dvhana:/usr/sap # ls -ltr

total 28

drwxrwx--x 12 root   sapsys 4096 Oct  7 21:50 trans

drwxrwxr-x  2 root   sapsys 4096 Oct  7 21:50 ccms

drwxr-x---  4 root   sapsys 4096 Oct  7 21:51 hostctrl

drwxr-xr-x  4 hanadm sapsys 4096 Oct  8 20:46 HAN

-rwxr-xr-x  1 root   sapsys  190 Oct  8 20:46 sapservices_201510_08_20.46.33

-rwxr-xr-x  1 root   sapsys  216 Oct  8 20:46 sapservices

drwxrwxr-x  5 root   sapsys 4096 Oct 10 00:19 tmp

In the above list both the services are pointing to HAB DB.

Please let me know if i have to  delete any other files .

Thanks,

Vardhan.

Hi ,

I tried to do manually with hdblcm using command line but i see the below error.

Choose installation

Index | System                            | Database Properties

  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1     | HAN (resume pending installation) | Installation of version 1.00.102.00.1442292917 is pending (since 2015-10-08T20:46:33+0530) at step 'Starting System'

        |                                   |

  2     | Install new system                |

        |                                   |

  3     | Exit (do nothing)                 |

Enter selected system index [3]:   1

My error says :

Note: Resume SAP HANA System install at step 'Starting System'

Do you want to continue? (y/n): y

Installing components...

Installation of SAP HANA system failed.

installComponent with sidadm user is not implemented

Then i went through logs location and found this. hdblcm.log

Hi Vardhan,

I believe you have already cleared some services and other stuffs.Try the command line option with user root.If it resumes then it is OK.

Otherwise..

1) I believe you have to uninstall it,do the cleanup and the start a fresh.

2) Use a different SID if that is not a constraint.

Thanks,

Mofizur

Hi Vardhan,

I faced the same problem and solved it by running the installation from OS root user ($sudo -s)

I hope this helps.

Best Regards.

Hi Vardhan,

Try 1910131 - SAP HANA system ID "<sid>" is already in use...
