Hierarchy Not working for Analysis for Office

Hi All,

For the past 2 hours i have been struggling to figure out how hierarchy is working for one HANA view and the same hierarchy is not working with another view in Analysis for Office.

For Ex:- Hierarchy is working for Cost view in AFO but the same Hierarchy is not working for the sales view in AFO.

Current Working Environment:-

Analysis for Office :- 2.1 Version.

Connection Type :- HANA HTTP Connection.

HANA:- 1.0 SP9

Yes, I would also appreciate an update if possible. I'm encountering the same "Caught Exception" message as posted above. Upgrading to Analysis for Office 2.2.4 did not help.

Any update on this?  I am receiving the same error with the same versions.  One thing I was able to do was run within MDX version in Microsoft Excel independently but not within Analysis for Office. Let me know and thanks.

I have reinstalled the SP2 version but still the problem persists.

General reporting features are working fine except for hierarchies.

Attaching the screen-shot for the same.

All,

to add what we have seen:

- The issue is in creating a virtual hierarchy, but rather a drill down by another characteristic

- the "virtual hierarchy" issue is not ALWAYS an issue

- Some characteristics allow adding drill down to hierarchy, others don't

- Changing the display options for the offending characteristic (text/key/both) sometimes fixes the issue (we need both, so still an issue for us)

We are going to to submit a note to SAP if the latest patch doesn't resolve
