How can I make my quality website is not searchable in any of search engines?
Our QA website( example https:///mysiteQA.com) also showing in Search engines( ex: Google.com) along with our production portal
Customers are unknowingly going to QA site instead the production site since they are able to see the QAsite as well .
Please any suggestions or help on any settings on the portal to make it non searchable? .
Thanks
Krishna
Hi,
A well known method is by using robots.txt to mark these unwanted urls.
You can put this file under root folder of your portal.
See here for more details:
Block access to your content - Search Console Help

Thank you Tal !,
...Sorry for my late response .I am confused with many solutions .
Could you please elaborate My QA website should not shown in Search engines. so my robots.txt file should contain the following text.
Inside robots.txt file contains the following exact text.
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
and put robots.txt file inside the public folder of the website (myQA.com/irj/portal) SAP Netweaver Portal.
Please let me if I need to add anything else .
Thanks
Krishna
Hi,
seems ok,
Its best to check with robots tester to see exactly if the urls are filtered:
Test your robots.txt with the robots.txt Tester - Search Console Help
