Unable to create dispatcher in SAP IDM 7.2 SP8

Hello Everyone,

I have just installed SAP IDM 7.2 SP8 on one of my test system and after the installation when I tried to create dispatcher got the below error.

and when I click on close the program it closed my identity center too. I have restarted my server and SAP instances too but still getting the same error.

Please help me to fix this error.

Hi Chandan,

Try re-installing MMC (preferably in other drive if available) and connect to database and check if it is working.

Run Setup.exe and change the installation directory.

I have tried the same but still same error. It seems issue due to windows server 2012. I will install it on 2008 server.

there was this discussion where many option were explored also it was referred also to a problem in "ntdll.dll' -  http://kb.wmware.com/kb/2107656., Microsoft update kb3000850.

Do you run the MMC in compatibility mode as was suggested?

Are you on 2012 R2? - see note 1958275 - SAP NetWeaver Identity Management 7.2 SP10.

I have removed the kb3000850 file as discussed in the SCN thread by Ronald and now I am able to create dispatcher.

What version of Windows is this?

What version of Java are you using?

Does the more details button show anything useful?

What updates were applied recently?

Are existing dispatchers working?

Hello Matt,

I am using windows 2012 server. I have SAP jvm 1.6 as well as JDK 1.8 in the server.
Could you please tell me how to check which JAVA version is being used by SAP IDM 7.2.
I have SAP IDM 8.0 SP1 already installed in it.

No updates have been applied recently as It is a fresh Installation. As its a fresh Installation, we don't have any existing dispatcher too.

After checking Event Log, I have found the below error.

Please let me know if any other detail is required to fix this issue.

Kumar,

I'd suggest removing both Java 1.6 and Java 1.8 and use Java 1.7.

You'll see what version of IDM is in use by going to the IDM Console, selecting Tools, options, then the Java tab.

Before doing any of that though, are the dispatchers running?

Also there seem to be some issues with Server 2012.  You might want to search through the forum...

Matt, I can't remove SAP jvm1.6 and JAVA 1.8 as SAP IDM 8.0 is using these two.

Presently my SAP IDM 7.2 is using JAVA 1.8

I have already set up SAP IDM 7.2 SP10 with JAVA 1.8 and its working fine for me in another system but that is windows 2008

.No, dispatcher are not running.

It would be great if you could you please share any relevant URL regarding the issue pertaining to SAP IDM 7.2 installation in Windows server 2012.

Hmmm..... Force IDM to use 1.6 then.

Regarding Windows 2012 issues, just go to the search box in the Content view.
