SAP CPM (Commercial Project Management integration With PPM(Project Management)

Hi All,

I am doing some solution design for one of our client, I have a question related to Commercial Project Management(cpm) Integration with PPM Project management which is as under.

I am very well aware of CPM integration with PPM when it comes PS Project creation from PPM item.

Just wanted to know is it is possible we can link CPM master project with PPM project Management (cProejcts)...since we want to use project management features given in Project management/Resource management i.e (phase, task......roles.. resource and assignment of resource to task ..etc) of PPM and later linking master project with SD for billing related features available in CPM....

HI Amit,

yes it is possible to link the cpm master project to the ppm project in project management. in that case you can see the structure of the project with the phases and the tasks in your cpm structure view.

via a relationship between ppm and ps project you will see all actuals posted to the assigned wbs elements in cpm reports via the ppm objects.

IN Financial planning you can plan your costs and revenues on the ppm objects, however be aware that the ppm objects are not replicated to embedded bw by default. Here you have to create some bw configuration yourself.

Hi Amit,

in the CPM masterproject customising (SPRO) you can assign the cProjects objects to the masterproject type. (Object types DPO, PPO and TTO) please be aware that you have to assign the logical system (Where PPM is running on) has to be assigned to the DPO object type.

If you use Financial planning as well, information for the structure elements of cProject (Definition, Phase and Task) has to be replicated to the embedded BW environment.

Where for the PS objects this replication takes place via a Deamon, and by SAP delivered BW objects, for cProjects you need to do a littlebit more your self.

See note 1806291, step 10 where it is explained how to replicate these objects using standard BW content.

The CPM Master Project can link to PPM, MRS, PS, SD, and CRM objects simultaneously.  This is standard CPM delivered object links.  You can also create additional links per your requirements with the delivered framework.
