We are installing SAP Ides ECC 6.0 with oracle database on windows 2008 server.

The installation is failing on the "Check DDIC Password" phase with the following message.

" Test logon to SAP System "sid" failed.

SOLUTION : Make sure that the system is started, that the user DDIC exists and that the password of user DDIC is correct

"

We have verified the password is correct and the system is indeed up.

We however cannot logon to the system SAPGUI issue the following message :

"SAP System Message:

Syntax error in Program SAPMSSY30 "

We have tried to redo the installation several times but still experience the same error. All prerequisites activities have been performed on the source system. We have tried upgrading  the kernel too but to no effect.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated .

Hello Amit,

"Error in program SAPMSSY30" can also occur due to kernel incompatibility.

Hello Amit,

Sometimes these error comes due to SSL error. Please check the output of the following command

sapcontrol -nr <Java instance no.> -host <hostname> -user <sidadm> -password <password> -prot NI_HTTPS -function -GetInstanceProperties

Hope this helps!

Hi Amit

1. If possible do the full system restart and then repeat the same phase,

2. Share the SAPinst log
