Dear experts,

I need to update this UAFL in order to upgrade LUMIRA Server for HANA from 1.25 to 1.28.

During the prerequisite steps I am facing issues during the update of the Universal Analytics Function Library from version 1.00.306.1.0 to version 1.00.309.1.0.

The problem  is that the wizard doesn't recognizing the instance where I have to do the upgrade. I have DEV and QAS in the same hardware but the system only recognizes HAQ.

Does anyone know why this behavior with this new UAFL version?

Do I have to stop the DataBase to execute this upgrade?

Regards,

DanielO

Dear Lumira Experts

For further analysis  these are the two options to reproduce the error:

Option 1

Using hdblcm

When we execute with root:

#################

cd /insdir/hanasp97/SAP_HANA_DATABASE

./hdblcm --component_dirs=/insdir/lumira.28/ual.1.309.1

SAP HANA Lifecycle Management - SAP HANA 1.00.097.00.1434028111

***************************************************************

Scanning Software Locations...

Detected components:

Universal Analytics Function Library (1.00.309.1.0)

in /insdir/lumira.28/ual.1.309.1/packages

Choose system to update, or choose installation

Index | System | Database Properties

---------------------------------------------------

1 | HAQ (update) | 1.00.097.00.1434028111

| | hachad (worker)

| |

2 | Install new system |

3 | Exit (do nothing) |

Enter selected system index [3]:

#################

The system doesn’t recognize the HAD installation. The server has 2

HANA installations in the same box:

HAD development

HAQ quality

Only HAQ is displayed by the installer. We need to update HAD.

Option 2

###########

hachad:/insdir/hanasp97/SAP_HANA_DATABASE # ./hdbupd

Systems which can't be upgraded:

DA1 No SAP HANA Database instance

DAA No SAP HANA Database instance

HAD No SAP HANA Database instance

Select a SAP HANA Database installation:

| | hachad (worker)

1 | None | (Abort upgrade)

Specify the sequence number of the system to be upgraded [1]:

Why is only HAQ been displayed by the installer?. We need to update

HAD.

I look forward any help

I believe this is being handled via a phone incident number 970744(?).

You are in good hands (probably the best) with James, but posting here is a good idea, just in case someone else has run into the issue and perhaps even resolved it.

For now, let's keep our fingers crossed.

Dear all,

Apparently there's a leftover folder (named DVEBMGS00 - possibly from an ABAP application server), on our  current HAD system folders.

Somehow, the hdblcm tool did not recognize HAD as an authentic HANA system because of that and decided to abort any action on that system.

The workaround is very simple in that case: as a test, we renamed folder DVEBMGS00 to DVEBMGS00_ and executed the hdblcm tool again.

Now we are  able to register the hdblcm on that system and finally install the additional software there.    This is definitely not a standard HANA folder.

Regards,

DO
