Can we delete the ASCS instance that got installed by installing NWA740. We tried to delete the ASCS profile and when we tried to log in to the system it took a long time to log in and ended by throwing dump. Suggest how can we delete ASCS and are there any post steps that needs to be performed after the deletion of ASCS.

ASCS instance is integral part of NW 740 system and NW system can not work without it as message service and enqueue service run on ASCS. Please keep ASCS instance profile back in the system at the location /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/ or /sapmnt/SID/profile and then start the system.

You cannot delete the ASCS.
Although it would be technically possible, this is a non-supported procedure and it might introduce issues.

Our issue has been resolved.
We deleted the ASCS and CI and then recreated the CI only which worked fine w.r.t Message and Enqueue parameters.
And it is up and running fine.

You cannot remove the ASCS instance from the SAP system. But there is way , in which you can include the ASCS instance in your CI and then remove the profiles.
So you have to play with the profiles parameter and start profiles parameters related to ASCS.
Please let me know the SAP Netweaver version.
