No Availability Control for one WBS within Project

Hi All,

i have got a requirement, where i need to deactivate availability control for one Fifth level WBS where we have 5 level of hierarchy.

fifth level is operational as Business requirement. Client want not to have budget/availability control for one WBS where material procured and inventory managed.

below is Project Structure:

1TJ-10017Ntwk Business Case1
2 TJ-10017.01Capacity
3  TJ-10017.01.B1SBU1
4   TJ-10017.01.B1.NYNew York
5    TJ-10017.01.B1.NY.P121New Mtl Procurement
5    TJ-10017.01.B1.NY.E121Services
5    TJ-10017.01.B1.NY.C145Existing Inventory
_________________________________________________________________________

Client does not want to budget WBS "New Mtl Procurement" and do not want to restrict for cost of any material PO/inventory.

is there any way to exclude any posting to this WBS from Budget Check.

Note:SAP do have Exempt Cost Element Functionality but as per Business, they do not want to restrict any Cost Element for budget check.

Thanks

Sunil

Dear Sunil,

You have two option left:

A- User status is the one option where by you can keep one WBS separate from the BUDG and AVAC system status and any posting. Got to T code OK02 and forbid the availability control for the relevant WBS . You must define your user status in three a way:

1- CRTD- Created.

2- BUDN- Budgeting done.

3- BREL- Budget released and keep the user status for that specific WBS to budgeting done status.

B- You can revoke the BUDG AVAC system status from the specific WBS. For that:

     1- Deactivate the AVAC control

2- Remove the Budget for WBS. Make it zero by return CJ38 or manually CJ30. Release must also be zero.

     3- Run OPSX

     4- Run CJEN

5- Check the WBS now .BUDG AVAC system status would no longer be available now.

     6- Activate the AVAC

7 - If still the BUDG remains then apply SAP NOTE 1145955 (ZDELPRBU). It will certainly revoke the BUDG system status and you would be able to post anything to specific WBS.

This can be achieved through User status control, you have to forbid the availability control in user status and make the status active for the required WBS. This would prevent the specific WBS to undergo availability control and it is expempted from all postings made to that wbs.

Hope this helps

Hi Sunil,

Well, its possible using user status. Refer below thread.

Availability control disappear in OK02 object type | SCN

I have not much explored on the impact, but have replicated a scenario using this option. Just see whether this works for your requirement, else you need to think about user exit or enhancement.
