stock figures for loading a subset from 2LIS_03_BX_TR

Hello Experts,

One of our customers has a problem with the stock figures out of 2LIS_03_BX_TR. The customer does not want to load the whole stocks, however, they have not archivied so far in SAP-source and did not planed this activity in near future. The problem we have mostly consists of the possibilty to upload inventory stocks initial form eg 2010 on. As a result, the initial stocks lacking and ín summary there are wrong key figures.

What adjustments can be done, in taking a account to a large amount of data, at the extractor or the initialization to avoid loading all the stocks data from a specific point of time!?

Thanks in advance

Sven

Hi Sven,

The most safe approach with best chance on success is reloading inventory management. DataSource 2LIS_02_BX can only be used to load the current snapshot of the stock. DataSource 2LIS_02_BF is used to upload goods movements for a particular time period.

Please refer to the document for a detailed approach and guidelines.

First of all I advise you to build up history for Goods Movements (2LIS_03_BF) and Revaluations (2LIS_03_UM) in DSOs. This can be very useful in the future and it should be a one-time action. Please check out the following SAP Notes for more information:

Unfortunately, you will need some downtime to execute a stock initialization in a live production system. Otherwise you cannot guarantee the data integrity. There are however certainly ways to minimize it. Please see SAP Note 753654 - How can downtime be reduced for setup table update. You can dramatically reduce the downtime to distinguish between closed and open periods. The closed periods can be updated retrospectively.

To make it more concrete, you could consider e.g. the periods prior to 2014 as "closed". You can then do the initialization starting from January 1, 2014. This will save you a lot of downtime. Closed periods can be uploaded retrospectively and do not require downtime.

Last but not least, you might want to have a look at the following SAP Notes:
