EhP7 Upgrade - Error in act_UPG --> PPH* Objects

Hello,

we have errors in phase act_upg during EHP7 upgrade

Systemlandscape = Unix/Sybase

We did not found these objects in our system. In table tadir we see these objects with objecttype "DDLS " but it seems that our system not kmow DDLS??

Error in Logfile:

Hi All,

I would like to add here that in case you have shadow instance during the upgrade and face this issue, please use the report from KBA 2086899 to activate the objects.

This comment really should be bumped up as the correct answer.  I ran into the same issues in ACT_UPG and followed the instructions here and ran RUTDDLSACT - didn't see this comment.  The upgrade later failed in run_rsptbfil_inishd.  Fortunately I found that SDN thread and Gaurav was kind enough to point to this note.

Hello, we are facing the same issue with PPH* objects.

We are not using a shadow instance, so directly I have ran RUTDDLSACT program with the option PHH_DDL_AFPO_1, but it ends with code 8:

The problem is that the view V_PPH_DDL_AFPO_1 cant be created in  the database so the DDL source is not activated.

I try to actívate the view in SE14 but it fails.

Same error with a lot of PPH* ddls.

Some idea?

Hi Ana,

Please try to repeat the phase some time first. If that do not work then please follow the KBA : 2086899.
Note says this report can be used for SPAM/SAINT case also which is similar to single system mode of SUM tool.

In case of error, please attach the screenshot of error.

I had to repeat the phase 4 times till I had ONLY the next errors:

1EEDO519 "DB Prozedur Proxy" "PPH_V02_MRP_MAT_PLANT" could not be activated

   3 EDT014XActivate dependent table "M_PREMA"

   3 EDT015 Dependent table "M_PREMA" was not activated

   3 EDT014XActivate dependent table "V_7BR_PREMA"

   3 EDT015 Dependent table "V_7BR_PREMA" was not activated

   3 EDT014XActivate dependent table "V_T7BRAP"

   3 EDT015 Dependent table "V_T7BRAP" was not activated

The first 3 errors you can find in:

The last 3 you can find in note: 1909524

The 5th time I did choose "ACCEPT".

Unfortunately every repeat did take 4.5 hours, but it is very wise to do.

This was also a EHP7 upgrade (comming from EHP5) with the latest SPS (EHP7 SPS11)

You should ignore the activation errors only if there is an SAP note suggesting you do so else you will run into problems in the later phases of the upgrade. I suggest you to raise an OSS message and get this checked with SAP as to whether you can ignore these activation errors and continue with the upgrade.

Could you please activate the DDL source with the report RUTDDLSACT

You can use PPH* to activate the objects.

If you want to activate the above objects then , you need to create a column SGT_SCAT for the above objects.

Hello Toni,

We had a similar (not exactly the same) problem during an upgrade from ERP 2004. We initially repeated the phase and as we still had errors, we "accepted non-severe errors" and continued the upgrade.

We then checked to see if the objects were reported in the LONGPOST.LOG after the upgrade which they weren't.
