what may cause the reason when an idoc processing has a time lag generally.

Hi,
How do you trigger the outbound IDOC? Are you triggering the IDOC through your custom program?
One possible reason for the delay, may be the locks imposed on the IDOCs.
Check the below OSS note.

Hi,
Which option is set in partner profile for outbound?
if it is 'Collect Idocs' then check what is the frequency of program RSEOUT00 in background job.

it is set to "Transfer IDoc Immediately".
