how to change database in BO 4.1 Platfom

Dear All,

I installed BO 4.1 platform with oracle 11g in the server, however, our clients wanted to change the database server. What should I do? Thanks.

Peigin,

    The process to follow is:

1. Create the NEW database with create permissions
2. Install 64bit ODBC Driver on BI4 Server
3. Create 64-bit System ODBC
4. STOP SIA and go to the properties tab
5. Use the Options on the SIA Configuration to copy database from OLD CMS to NEW CMS

Hello,

There is an other method than the one in the first communication. Here are the steps:

1. Take the backup of the existing CMS database.

2. Create a blank database on the new server machine and restore
database
from existing database to new database server with the help of
DBA.

3. Stop CMS and in the configuration tab of the CMS properties click
on specify and provide the credentials so that CMS will points to the new
server database.

sharing the link to change the CMS DB to HANA, this link has complete steps to change it HANA u can skip the HANA part and you will be able to get all the process which is required in BO to any other Database.
