Hi,
GVD_LATCHCHILDS table grows abnormal manner.
It keeps adding records continuously and DB is running out of space. (97% full)
Pls suggest a solution for this.
Are there any background job to delete the entries of this table?
What would be the effect if those records deletes thru sql commands
regards,
zerandib
Hi,
Regarding GVD_LATCHCHILDS and GVD_* tables, you can check carefully the SAP Notes below
706478 - "Preventing Basis tables from increasing considerably (point 44.)"
1411834 - "DBA Cockpit: GVD_* tables, RSORAHCL, history"
1080813 - "DBA Cockpit: Changing history update (Oracle database)"

Hi,
that (and other GVD) tables belong to a history keept by the DBACockpit.
Since Oracle 10g, historical performance information is keept by Oracle (AWR & ASH) therefore, if you have the corret licenses, it is possible to deactivate the history collection and use the AWR.
look at the notes 1411834 and 1080813 to deactivate this collection. Use the script "truncate_gvd_script" from note 1080813 to delete the data
