Analysis View?

Hello,

Analysis for Office 2.1 SP3 (also tried 2.2).

I'm connected to a BI Platform (4.1 SP06, Addon for Analysis for Office installed).

I've opened an Analysis Workbook from there (simple one, only one data source), refreshed it.

Q: There is no context menu to save an Analysis View (as described in "21_3_analysisplugin_user_en.pdf", chapter 9.1).

Could not find any other option in the ribbon, pivot area or menu.

Have I missed something? Are there other prerequisites?

Br, Martin

Martin - it should be part of the ribbon, next to Display Panel - note I am on 2.2 but it should be there see below:

Hello Tammy,

thanks for your fast reply!

I'm a little confused now.

Isn't that the "good old" BEx query view, stored on BW?

Referring to the user guide:

Chapter "3.1.8 To save a query view" vs. "9.1 To save an analysis view"

Martin

That is saving an Analysis View - I just used it saving it on the BI Platform and I am able to use that Analysis View as a Data Source to Analysis:

That's the question: How did you save that Analysis View?

I clicked the Save View in the ribbon as shown above in my first screen shot - that saves it as an Analysis View

Found it out now (it's clever, but not well documented):

  • if connected to BW directly, "Save View" creates a BEx query view on the BW server
  • if connected to BI Platform, it creates an Analysis View on the BI Platform
