Hi all,

I have an account at the HANA cloud platform cockpit : https://account.hanatrial.ondemand.com/

after logon -> "SAP HANA web-based development workbench" , ended up at the 2nd snapshot below, and didn't find any option to create any views from here.

can anyone please help me on this?

is there any virtual hana modelling platform ? as my requirement is to have a hands-on experience on the modelling views.

[ i am not able to install hana studio on my laptop due to access privileges.]

Hello Swetha,

because the HANA instance in the HCP trial is still on SPS08 level (for whatever reason ), there is no option to create e.g. calculation views within the web-based development workbench.

With SPS09 the first version of the view modeler was introduced in the web-based development workbench, which was improved with SPS10 and also SPS11.

So, on SPS08 you cannot create calc. views via the web-based development workbench. It is just possible via the HANA Studio or Eclipse with HANA Tools.

Best Regards,

Florian

Hi Florian,

Is there any other virtual system kind of an option for practicing HANA modelling without installation?

Hello Swetha,

via the SAP Cloud Appliance Library (SAP Cloud Appliance Library) you can get a newer SPS level system as developer edition. You do not have to pay for a license, but you have to pay for the computing costs on AWS.

Florian

Hi Swetha,

over in the SAP HANA Developer Center there's a link to a SAP HANA Developer Edition on Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure. I'm not sure though what HANA versions are available there.

Also, be advised that you will be charged by Amazon or Microsoft for the time you use these systems.

We're working on the upgrade of of the free trial instances in the SAP HANA Cloud Platform. Watch out for the Release Notes in this space.

Best regards,

Oliver

Hi all,

1)  this location has mentioned of a recent update on 17th december.

but seems that even this version doesnt have the hana modeling feature [ like hana studio],

can anyone please confirm if i missed it out? or this feature is not yet available?

2)  i need another advice regarding eclipse download and installation for hana studio.

we are planning to procure another separate desktop for training.

so we may be able to download eclipse over there, but is this a safe download?

i am referring to the below installable:

Hi all,

my requirement is to work on hana modelling by connecting to my cloud account data.

i installed Eclipse Mars/luna 32/64 bit - tried all options one by one after un-installing current,

but unable to find xs project.

as mentioned in other threads, i did restart eclipse in clean mode from cmd prompt and other option by adding -clean to first line in eclipse.ini file.

but still no luck. Can anyone suggest ?

i followed the same process mentioned in SAP Development Tools for Eclipse

Hello,

To see the xs project you need to start hana studio with "-clean" from command prompt
