Not able to Add a Database on SAP HANA Cloud Platform Cockpit

Former Member

Hi,

We have created a second account for Success Factor part on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform and installed the JAVA application onto it successfully.

But when we try to create a database , by clicking on New everything is in disabled mode. Below is the screenshot of the same.

Can anyone help resolving this.

Regards,

Shravan

Hi Shravan,

as part of our long-ongoing efforts to replace the insecure, instable and error-prone offering of schemas on shared DB systems, we went one step ahead and switched-off the usage of default shared DB systems (both MaxDB and Hana) in the external productive landscapes for all accounts that have no explicitly granted right to use shared systems.

According to HCP product management only a some account license types allow such a shared DB system usage. Not sure about your account, but as it seems it is not allowed. That is why you by default cannot create shared schemas.

In order to create a schema you should use a dedicated DB system (Hana or ASE), create the schema there and bind your application to it. For details on that process you may check 'Binding Productive SAP HANA Instances to Java Applications' at https://help.hana.ondemand.com/help/frameset.htm?1742986c3cfa47099442aee0cf8df5e9.html or 'Binding databases' at https://help.hana.ondemand.com/help/frameset.htm?216cef2158cc419fade9a8247d5008fa.html.

In case you have a productive scenario that relies on the creation of schemas on shared DB systems, please open a Jire ticket for Persistence Service and request that with the notion of your account and a description of the usage scenario. Doing so we can for a limited transition period setup your account so that you will still be allowed to created schemas on shared DB systems.

Best regards,

Michael
