what is use of SCOT transaction in sap mm

Hi Experts.

I had heard many times about SCOT transaction in sap mm, what is the use of it?

can anybody explain with the an example would be more appreciated?

It is not a MM transaction, it is simply like the name says: Business Communication Administration

which is cross all modules, or in other word the fundament for communication and usually administered by the SAP Basis folks.
