Hi All,
As of BW7.4 SP8 there is a way to directly access data in another external aggregation level using the FOX Infoprovider statement.
Has anyone used it? Can you share how?
Can you directly assign a value from the external inforpovider?
Example:
*change {keyfigure,fiscalyearperiod}
Infprovider agglevelexternal.
{keyfigure,fiscalyearperiod} = agglevelexternal.{keyfigure,fiscalyearperiod | version= previousyear} * 1.05.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Andy
Hi All,
Having started this question, I have found what my problem is, but will leave it "Unanswered" so the discussion may continue.
I found the SAPnote:
2234156 - FOX: Executing formulas with external aggregation levels on the SAP HANA database
which detailed the requirements for using the "Infoprovider" statement.
My basis person said that while we have the requisite levels in BW, we are not yet at the necessary level on HANA.
So, I suggest you check your installation against the SAPnote as the first step in resolving this issue.
Regards,
Andy

Hi Sheldon,
Thanks for your response.
I believe I have correctly entered the statement. I am receiving an error message that indicates that the system is recognizing the period (".") after the infoprovider name in the assignment as an end of statement.
Has anyone been successful in using the statement? On what SP?
Still seeking an answer.
Andy
Hi Andy,
What I use is our internal test system, so the support package is the latest one.
Because this is a new function and we cannot be sure whether all of the business scenarios are fully tested , it is hard to say whether it is a new bug or not.
If you believe it is a bug but cannot find a correction, you may consider to create an incident. Then I can check and confirm it in your system directly.
After it is solved, we can share it here.
Best Regards,
Sheldon.
Hi Sheldon and Andy,
I am facing a similar same issue.
My operand syntax is ok as long as I don't use the external Aggregation Level.
When I call it I have a syntax error in the operand :
"Formula error: Formula element "FISCVARNT" could not be recognised".
BW 740 SP9.
Thanks for your help.
Kind regards.
Ronan
