Mandatory Pur Grp while creating/modifying Pur Info Record in 4.7

Dear All,

In screen layout for ME11 and ME12, we have kept Purchasing group field as optional. Still while saving the purchase infor record, it gives an error message saying "Enter Purchase Group". Has SAP set Purchase Group mandatory internally? Is this a SAP standard funtionality? OR Is there any other config that can set Purchasing Group as Optional? Please let me know.

Hi

if you are having Pur grp field as optional then in ME11/12 it always asks for this field you can not create without entering it.

try making that field as display field and then try.

Hi,

Are you creating an info record for a material or are you not quoting a material?

If you are quoting a material the material group is pulled in from the material master record.

If you are NOT creating an info record for a specific material then the system needs to know which material group it relates to (it has to relate to a material group if there is no material specified)

Thanks for replying! I could find an SAP Note 653228 which solved my problem. SAP has internally kept Purchasing group mandatory in program. They have given a note for whom this requirement does not suit.
