Hello All,
We implemented technical monitoring for SAP HANA Database.
My question is related to the replicated instance. Do we also have to install an SMD agent on the replicated instance (FYI, dbacockpit is pointing to the HANA database logical ip)?
In order to test, we switched our HANA system to the replicated instance. The monitoring is still working (metrics updated) even if there is no smd agent installed on the replicated instance host.
Do you know what is the goal of the SMD agent for HANA Database monitoring?
Thanks a lot for your feedback
KR,
Benjamin
Hi Benjamin,
What is version of your HANA DB
When you installed the SMD agent for Primary what did you mention in host name field
Have you activated agents on the fly functionality

Hello,
FYI,
i received the following info from SAP Support:
The enhanced scenario, both replication nodes assigned to the Solution
Manager with #Switch Over# possibilities is only available Starting
with Solution Manager 710 SP 14.
The setup of the monitoring of the full SR scenario in Solution
Manager as of SP 14 is described in this wiki:
http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/TechOps/SAP+HANA+Managed+System+Setup+for+System+Replication+Sc... rios
With SP13 and older you cannot model the SR scenario in Solution
Manager and hence will have to monitor each DB separately.
Until we decided to implement this monitoring on SPS14, i would like to know if we have to install an SMD agent on the replicated instance with solman SPS13.
Thanks for your help
KR,
Benjamin
