Hitting Enter key on an input field does not trigger PAI event

Hi Experts,

After we upgraded to Netweaver 7.4, hitting Enter key on an Input field(Ex. fields under 'Org.Data' tab in ME21N transaction ) does not trigger any kind of event / round trip when the Transaction is opened in the web gui(browser). The event is triggered in a non upgraded system which is on 7.3.

The event is triggered when the the Tcode is opened in the Normal GUI.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,

Ajith Cheruvally

Dear Ajith,

what are the system details of the Netweaver 7.4? It's SAP_BASIS and Kernel version and patch details.

Is it only transaction ME21N that you have this issue with the 'ENTER' key? Or do you get the same behaviour with other transactions that use the same control?

What type of control are you using? Can a screenshot be attached?

See the note

Hello Oisin,

Thanks for assisting me.

The service pack level is 011 ( Screenshot is attached ).

And I have this issue in ME21N under multiple tabs. They are all input fields ( Not table controls ). I will explain it in detail.

1. Under the 'Delivery/ Invoice' tab, After I enter the 'Currency' in the 'Currency' field and hit the enter key, the 'Exchange Rate' input field will be auto populated in the normal SAP GUI.

But when I do this in the Web GUI, there is no action at all.

2. in the same ME21n transaction, under the 'Org.Data' tab, after I enter the 'Purch.Org' and hit enter, it's description will appear near it.

But when I do this in Web GUI, there is no action at all.

Basically, there is no PAI event triggered from any of these input fields when I hit Enter key.

I have attached the screen shot. I have even tried changing the theme back to the sap_tradeshow theme by adding it as a URL parameter. But no luck.

The SAPGUI looks like below.

The webgui screen shot is below

I haven't yet tried the SAP Note that you mentioned.

Hi Ajith,

the SAP note I mentioned is not relevant.

What Kernel are you using here on the SAP_BASIS: SAPKB74011 ?

Hi Ajith,

you will need to upgrade your Kernel here.

Would recommend to apply the 742 Kernel patch 300 or the latest Kernel 317.

See the note.
