Barcode of GLM

Hello Experts,

I need you expert advice for Barcode of GLM. I know, this topic has been discussed several times.

I have gone through almost all threads on this topic still carrying few doubts.

I have gone though notes like

25344 - Interface SAPSprint (SAPFprint) barcode DLL (details)

1293379 - EH&S WWI Bar code support

Requirement is that, my client is using GLM from quite long time but FIRST time they wanted to go for Barcode (SSCC) on label.

Upon initial checking, I found that, no homework done for Barcode. No setting, No activity perfomed for it so far...

so it is kind of fresh start...

we are planning to use barcode library of TEC-IT but what after that?

Once it is setup, i am aware how to use CG42 to create a code a label to have barcode.

but before that, how to set up barcode? what all activities I need to perform on WWI server, Front end and/or ABAP FMs?

we wish to go for DLL method and not FM for font.

Can anyone please convey me what ALL activities are required on WWI server and SAP side once we get a barcode library from vendor? where to install library on WWI server, which folder? do we need to modify any *.INI files of WWI server? any config to be done in SPRO?

is there any guide available for the same?

Can you please advise.

a.) which SAP release do you use? (Support Package? Enhancement Package?)

b.) which WWI version do you use?

I assume you have e.g. checked these threads/documents (please confirm)

Yes, I have already gone through the threads you mentioned.

Basically, I am looking for, What all activities Basis team needs to do on WWI server and how?

will you please do the needful to gather this info?

based on information in document:

Printing in Bar code in SAP EHS WWI

This seems to be your situation:

"Please note that the std. Bar code interface in WWI is available only after EHP 5 SP 11, EHP 6 SP 08, EHP 7" => assumption: you are having the correct SAP release

"Simultaneously you need to upgrade your generation server to minimum of SP 31."

You have the correct WWI release

Now let us focus on set up. You wrote;: we wish to go for DLL method and not FM for font.

In this case the story should run as:

You have an operating system on the gen server (in most csaes Windows OS)

You have installed the correct WWI on the Windows OS and installed anything else needed (Winword etc.)

Now a "dll" is a part of a system ressource for Windows OS; therefore the simplest topic top achieve is:

any GLM WWI gen server must get the "Dll"; on the top: may be you should look for to onstall this "Dll" om the clients.
