Hi Experts,
I have 3+ Years of exp in SAP Basis.
But I am new in sap portal. So I want to know that "How EP connect to the Backed System?"
Please help soon.
Thanks
sufiyan
We have two ways to connect the SAP EP to Back-end System(SAP ECC).
1.Through SSO(Single Sign On)
While creating SAP Transaction iView and SAP Webdynpro iView that time we will use SSO
2. Through SLD( System Landscape Directory )
This SLD Objects we will use in WD-JAVA,ESS/MSS etc.
Example: Get RFC/BAPI from ECC to WD-JAVA Application in NWDS
Kindly let me know if you need any more information

Hi Sufiyan,
Normally EP connect to back-end ABAP system using system object that created in EP. Inside such system object, you need to input connect data of ABAP system such as host name, SID, instance number...etc See below SAP online help link.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/48/8eab6e86ba3cb8e10000000a42189d/content.htm
For example, you want to integrate backend BW into EP, then you need to create system object
in EP that point to BW following SAP online help link as below.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/4c/4c3bd7a12f6f83e10000000a42189e/frameset.htm
Once system object get created, then you could create iview to use this system object so as to run application in ABAP system.
Hope this could help you!
Best regards,
Amy
