Hi,
I have few display templates and query templates. How can I know which query template is used for the display template?
Regards,
Ajay.
Hi Ajay,
As Kishmore said the best place to look is at the best practices guide. In xMII there is no correlation between display and query templates as 1 query template can be used for many display templates and vice versa.
Another reason to follow the best practices is if you plan on upgrading to version 12.0 of xMII. It will make migrating to this version much easier.

Hi Kishore and Erik,
Thanks for the reply.
But, if i use the same query template for different display templates, and also templates with same name in different folders, then its a bit complicated.
Thanks for remembering me to follow the best practise, its helpful.
If there is any other possiblity please let me know.
Regards,
Ajay.
Ajay,
One other practice that we follow is using common folders within module folders.
For example you are designing templates for Quality, have a folder called Quality and inside it have one more folder called Common
Have all the reusable templates within the common folder.
In case you have templates common to all the modules have them in a "CommonForAll" folder.
This will help you and naming convention is the best practice that you can follow to reduce confusions
Hope this helps...
Thanks,
Ajitha

Hi Ajay,
For this the better solution is to follow the naming convention
Name query template as ApplicationNameQuery and Display templates as ApplicationNameDisplay.
This gives you intial idea...
For best practices better check this link....
hope this helps you...

Kishore
