Dear Ladies and gentleman,

I want to rename a sandbox system to another system-ID. Operating
system is SOLARIS and Database is MAXDB.

There is an error in step Rename database Instance.

ERROR 2016-01-15 12:49:15.505 (root/sapinst) id=controller.stepExecuted errno=FCO-00011
The step RegisterDatabaseInstance with step key |offlineadjustment_dialogs|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|offlineadjustment_db|ind|ind|ind|ind|db|0|SBCOPY_ADA_DB|ind|ind|ind|ind|max|0|sdb_rename_database_dia|ind|ind|ind|ind|sdb_system_rename|0|sdb_rename_database_instance|ind|ind|ind|ind|RenameDatabaseInstance|0|RegisterDatabaseInstance was executed with status ERROR .

What can be done ?

Kind Regards

Hartwig Latz

Hello Hartwig,

you should look for other log and trace files in the installation directory of SWPM which could make clear why the registration of the database instance failed. It could be even caused by wrong permission on MaxDB library files.

Hello Hartwig,

Were you able to find the root cause of it ?.

I am getting the same issue.

Hello Hartwig,

The error is pointing Database.

Either Database is not running or the connectivity is not working.

Could it be due to Kernel also. Please check.

Hello Hartwig,

check that the permission and ownership of directory /usr/spool/sql and subdirectories and files are correct, on UNIX the owner and group should be sdb and sdba.

Valerio

Hi Hartwig ,

Please attach the sapinst_dev.log at least. If possible, you need to look at this log, then check if any sub log mentioned.

Best regards,
James

Hi Hartwig,

The log points to this log:

/SAPCD/SYSRENAME/SWPM/INST-TEMP/sapinst_instdir/NW70/SBC/CENTRAL/sapinst_loginquirer.17.log

Please attach it.

Best regards,
James

Hello Hartwig,

Unfortunately the log does not help here.

There isn't detailed information mentioned in the logs, it is very hard to address root cause. I would suggest you to raise a ticket to SAP support by providing following information:

1. sapinst.log
2. sapinst_dev.log
3. sapint_loginquirer
4. diagpack.tgz (after executing command "dbmcli -d <dbsid> -u <username>,<password> diag_pack", you will find it from maxdb run directory)

Wish you good luck.
