Hi Experts,

I have few doubts in the installing design-studio-add-on in distributed BI platform.

W.R.F of   we need to install to the below services in the respective tiers.

Intelligence Tier ( where CMS is hosted):

• Analysis Application Web components
• Analysis Application Service

Processing Tier ( where APS is hosted):

• Analysis Application Web components
• Analysis Application Service

Web Tier:( Tomcat)

• Analysis Application Web components
• Analysis Application support for Mobile Services

As per my understanding, we don't need to install any Design studio service  in the Intelligence Tier ( where CMS is hosted).

I have 5 servers distributed environment is there

1 Intelligence Tier ( where CMS is hosted) node , 3 Processing Tier ( where APS is hosted) , 1 Web Tier ( Tomcat).

I am planning to install in the below order. ( nothing to install in the Intelligence tier)

Processing Tier ( where APS is hosted):

• Analysis Application Web components
• Analysis Application Service
• 
  

Web Tier:( Tomcat)

• Analysis Application Web components
• Analysis Application support for Mobile Services

Can anyone provide some information or guidance on this. Do we need to install any service n the Intelligence tier ( where CMS is hosted)

Welcome back JRK , After long time.

Yes that is true. Design Studio add on install will add on services to APS and Mobile services. So your order is correct.

Based on the services required to install DS add on, you need to run the install on APS and Web application server.

Yes. Design studio requires APS server. if your CMS tier has APS services, you can install DS on that CMS tier.

Thanks- both of my CMS and Processing Tiers have APS services. So do I install DS on both the CMS tgier and the Processing tier, such as described in ?

Yes. You need to install on both. But the screenshots in the link you sent are not correct. You don't need to install web components in CMS tier, if the CMS tier does not have Web components. You need to install web components only Tomcat tier.
