I am little confused with these words replication,download,moving,copying and mapping..

Hi everyone !

                    I am little confused with these words replication,download,moving,copying  and mapping in sap  CRM..

                    Can anyone explain me what objects we do copy, what objects we replicate, what objects we move and what objects we map from SAP R/3 to sap CRM  or CRM to R/3 ?

1, when transfer master data (products or BP), or sales orders/quotation/service documents, or condition records, or customizing btw ECC and CRM.

replication : CRM -> ECC

download : ECC -> CRM

2, copy usually means in the system, we make a copy of something. if someone says copy btw 2 system, it means either replicate or download.

3, mapping usually means relationship btw 2 fields or 2 customizing.

for example, when replicating orders from crm to ecc or download sales orders from ecc to crm, we have mapping for partner functions. In crm system, we define crm partner function should be mapped to what partner function in ecc. so when replicating order to ecc, the partner function will be changed ot ecc partner function before it is sent to ecc by rfc.

I seldomly use move.

These words may be misused in various occasions. I do not think this is any online help to define these verbs and what situation they shall be used.
