Bom Not exploding in cj20n

Dear Experts,

I am trying to explode the BoM in cj20n.

Have maintained REFERENCE material in external activity.

Also, done the  below mentioned steps.

You need to select the material from right screen.

1. In the left, click on Activity (BOM Explosion test)

2. In the right detail screen, click on component overview screen

3. Select the line item and do Edit - Component - Explode bom or Ctrl+F6

PLease advice.

Try going to Network Activity, then goto Component Overview, select the material and then click Edit Menu, Component, Explode BOM. This should resolve your issue.

Hi Sunil,

Even after giving the quantity 1, in Purch Data, it is still not exploding in cj20n.

though in CN33 it is exploding.

I want it to explode in cj20n, please revert.

Any input, why the BoM is exploding only through CN33.

My requirement is to Explode the BoM in CJ20n.

Hi Rohit,

You cannot explode from CJ20N WBS overview screen, you can only do in Material overview in CJ20N

That is the standard

I am clicking on Assigned material in actitivty and then going to EDIT-->Component --> Explode BoM (which is greyed out).

Am i doing anything wring here.

Click on the activity - Component Overview Icon

Then Edit - Component - Explode BOM

Hi Rohit,

lets look at route cause step by step, can you check for below first in material master:

1. Tab MRP1 MRP type is PD

2. Tab MRP2  check for Procurement Type not blank

3. MRP3 Strategy group is 21

4. MRP 4 Individual collective req to be 1

With all above try to run MRP in MD51 just to see BOM explodes or not.

If this happens then we check for issue in CJ20N.

Thanks for revert.

I tried the suggested steps and executed MD51.

Here No proposals are generated.

" No procurement proposals changed"

Even in Md01 the result is same.

Kindly advised.

Hi Rohit,

Can you try as said below, I hope it works (Simple):

1. Go to project said above.

2. Choose the NWA below which the BOM to be exploded.

3. Be in component overview tab of the NWA

4. Now go to Edit -> Component -> Explode BOM where you can choose BOM material or use same material that exist in component overview.

Let me know if it works, tried in my sys here is working fine.

Hi Rohit,

1) select the Any activity in the project.

2) Click on component icon , Enter the Bom material , then goto edit on the top menu and  do explode bom. All the bom materials will assign to same activity.

If you still unable to explode , please check the your bom.

I have maintained the quantity in cs71.

If i am using CN33 IT is exploding from there.  But I want it to explode from the Project builder, cj20n,

Any inputs where i have missed out.

Any relevance of Project valuated stock or non valuated stock on this ??

Hi Rohit,

you have maintained quantity for BOM items but you have to give quantity to produce/explode so system will multiply the same with BOM items.

BOM header- Mat1

items - Mat 2 with quantity 2

than if you assign BOM header in activity without any quantity so how system calculate quantity for BOM Items to be processed.

Please define plan quantity & try same step by selecting material in table view of the activity.
