I am performing an SAP update ECC6 EHP4 to EHP7 and I got stuck at Preprocessing phase with the following error:

Our resolution was to apply PTF missing, PMR open with IBM and was asked to apply in the PTF below.

NOTE: This PTF will only be applied after an IPL.

Hello,

I seem to be having the same issue. Also on iseries, but on different components.I have done this upgrade on similar systems, even on one on the same host. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried deleting SQL packages, and I will run an AS4FIXFILE tonight.

Hi Marcelo,

Unfortunately, it did not work. I also tried to INIT the phase but that also did not work. I have replaced R3TRANS with a later version, also without result. After that, I have reset the upgrade, placed a different SAPEXE and SAPEXEDB in the package download directory, and started SUM again. It is now at SHADOW_IMPORT_INC again, I will let you know how it turns out.

Hi Marcelo,

It worked, I am now past the SHADOW_IMPORT_INC. So my steps to get passed this error:

1) delete SQL packages and run as4fixfile on R3SIDDATA and R3SIDSHD library (not sure if this fixed anything)

2) Stop update, and reset update

3) Add latest SAPEXE and SAPEXEDB to package download directory

4) Restart SUM and run it as normal
