Hello,

Is there a way to remove the previous user's username from the Deski login (user identification) panel?

Thanks,

Omar

Dear Omar,

Please follow those steps:

  1. Go to "C:\users\administrator\Documents\My Business Objects
    Documents\LocData
    ".
  2. Delete /rename the files with the extension "intranet", "extranet" and "LSI".
  3. Launch Deski designer

For more information, please check following KBA:

in BOE 3.1.

Kind regards,

Hi Wafa,

Thank you very kindly for finding this information. While this did work, I noticed it does not keep a user's logon credentials removed from the login panel. Do you know by any chance if there is a way to keep this information from being stored in the panel indefinitely?

Thanks,

Omar

Hi Wafa,

Thank you for your response, but I am not able to access the notes. My username and password are not working for this.

Can you assist/advise?

Thanks,

Omar

See attached info from KB to help you resolve your issues,

Cause

  • On first session, there is no logon information stored in user's LocData file
  • the Client Tools read from the last successful logon information (excluding the password) from configuration files stored in the user’s LocData folder at
    <InstallDrive>\Documents and Settings\<Username>\My Documents\My Business Objects Documents\LocData
  • In 2Tier mode the filename structure is [CMSNAME].intranet   (i.e. MYCMS.intranet )
  • In 3tier mode the filename structure is  [CMSNAME]@[PORT]_j2ee.extranet  (i.e. MYCMS@6400_j2ee.extranet
  • Please note that the SAP Business Objects Client tools retrieve the configuration from the last modified file with the extension it needs
  • For example, if you are logging in 2tier mode Desktop Intelligence will retrieve the information from the last modified file with the .intranet extension

  Resolution

  1. Launch Desktop Intelligence
  2. Logon to a valid CMS system
  3. Close Desktop Intelligence
  4. Logon to Infoview with an account that has permissions to Create and Edit Desktop Intelligence Documents
  5. Go to Document List
  6. Select New > Desktop Intelligence   (DeskI in 3-tier mode will be opened)
  7. Once completed the logon process, close Desktop Intelligence
  8. On the client PC, navigate to the folder:
    <Installdrive>:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\My Documents\My Business Objects Documents\LocData
    where Username is the operating system's current username, not the Business Objects one
  9. Locate the most recent file with .internet extension  (this is the file read by the Client Tools in 2-tier mode)
  10. Edit the file in a text editor (preferrably WordPad ) according to your needs, the structure is as follows:

    connection.common.config_name=<Systemname>  (specify the CMS system name, without the port)
    connection.common.last_authmode=<Authentication Type> (specify secEnterprise, secLDAP, secWinAD , secWindowsNT or secSAPR3)
    connection.common.last_user=<Username>   (leave blank if redistributing to many users)
    connection.common.mode=INPROC_CLIENT_MODE   (do not modify this line)
  11. Save the file
  12. Locate the most recent file with .extranet extension  (this is the file read by the Client Tools in 3-tier mode)
  13. Edit the file in a text editor (preferrably WordPad ) according to your needs, the structure is as follows:

    connection.common.config_name=<systemname>:<port>
    connection.common.last_authmode=<Authentication Type> (specify secEnterprise, secLDAP, secWinAD , secWindowsNT or secSAPR3)
    connection.common.last_user=<username>     (leave blank if redistributing to many users)
    connection.common.mode=HTTP_MODE       (don't change this line)
    connection.http.locale=en   (customizable with other locale)
    connection.http.provider=WSTK_HTTP_Tunneling       (don't change this line)
    connection.http.sso_provider=    (if you have SSO enabled, logon with SSO and this will be filled, otherwise keep blank)
    connection.http.url=http://SERVERNAME:PORT//AnalyticalReporting/../AnalyticalReporting/jsp/shared/WSTKBridge.jsp
    connection.http.urlbase=http://SERVERNAME:PORT//AnalyticalReporting/..
    connection.http.web_authmode=
  14. Save the file
  15. Redistribute the .intranet and .extranet files, by placing them in the LocData folder for each user
