Hello All Experts,
I am facing one issue while defining derivation step. We are in Automotive industry and vehicles are manufactured in Petrol and Diesel Variants. I want to report this based on Petrol and Diesel in COPA.
I have done the following setup -
1. Defined material in FERT and "Configurable Material" is TICKED.
2. Created a CLASS with Class Type 300 in CL01
3. Created Characteristics in CT04 and maintained the values.
4. Assigned Class to Material via CU41.
5. Assigned the expected characteristics in MM02 classification tab as for MODEL (Charac) = PETROL
6. Defined Derivation Step as MOVE
6.1 Source as VCONF - MODEL ( MODEL is from CT04 Characteristics)
6.2 Target COPA - WWMDL ( As Model Characteristics )
Now while testing the derivation step in KEDR, I am giving Material as PRODUCT in COPA and clicking on "Derivation" I am hoping that in MODEL ( WWMDL ) should bring PETROL but its NOT happening !!!!
Can experts guide on this as why this is not populating ? Did I configured something wrong OR Missed anything here ?
Experts guidance will be help on this.
Regards,
Sharvari Joshi.
Hi Sharu
Your set up is all perfect.. The derivation rule cant be tested by giving Material Number
Create a Sales Order for this material, in which you enter the Char Value for MODEL.. Your Derivation rule will be able to derive from there
In short, it will work based on sales order

Hello Sir,
Created sales order as suggested, but unfortunately on "Account Assignment" Tab for item level I checked in "Prof. Segment" for MODEL = PETROL is not fetched clicked on Derivation button. However I haven't saved that sales order but hopefully that doesn't matter.
Do I need to carry out O2C cycle complete ? we have don't have sales order transfer to COPA, Account Base and Costing Base BOTH COPA are active.

Sharu.
Hello Sir,
Strangely it worked in another case while saving it brought successfully the PETROL in WWMDL. But can you please tell me why this gets triggered at the time of sales order ? I mean why it can NOT be tested from KEDR itself like others steps we do test and check ?
Not bug you much, the problem is absolute solved. As usual excellent answer / solution.

Sharu.
Hi Ajay
I have same problem but when i try to execute simulation in KEDR the message is that Not Avaible even using Sales Order number.
I make this customizing:
1. Created a CLASS with Class Type 300 in CL01
2. Created Characteristics in CT04 and maintained the values.
3. Assigned the expected characteristics in MM02 classification tab as for MODEL (Charac) = ZBRAND
4. Defined Derivation Step as MOVE
4.1 Source as VCONF - MODEL ( MODEL is from CT04 Characteristics)
4.2 Target COPA - WWMDL ( As Model Characteristics )
