Dear sirs,

I would like to know the maximum number of CPU used by ASA 17 network database server, and the maximum amount of RAM it can use.

Thank you in advance

Hi Daniele Ferri,

CPU limits are based on license type. The workgroup edition's maximum CPUs is 2, and standard edition's maximum CPUs is 4, other editions without limits.

About maximum memory limits can refer the following url 'http://dcx.sap.com/index.html#sqla170/en/html/813836f16ce210149e89f219dc353b7e.html'

Maximum cache size (Unix: Solaris, x86 Linux, IBM AIX, HP) 2 GB for 32-bit servers

Maximum cache size (Win 64) Limited by physical memory on 64-bit servers

Maximum cache size (Itanium HP-UX) Limited by physical memory on 64-bit servers

Best regards

Hello Daniele,

The 64-bit database server is only limited by the available physical RAM, there is no upper limit.

Different editions of SQL Anywhere have different limits regrading CPUs:

Workgroup Edition is limited to utilizing 2 physical CPU sockets

Standard Edition is limited to utilizing 4 physical CPU sockets

     Advanced Edition has no limit

Thanks,

Mikel

Hello Mikel,

Thank you.

Do you know where can I find pricing information about these editions?

As far as I can see there's no pricing information for Standard or Advanced Edition. Btw. this "Edge" thing is rather irritating, I couldn't find any information what that means or where it is defined.  Another irritation information:

'It licenses the multi-user server of SAP SQL Anywhere, workgroup edition, for use on one computer and includes four (4) user licenses.'

Our distributor supplies only base packages with five (5) user licenses.

Hi Reimer - to clarify, Edge is the Workgroup Edition.  There was a re-branding of products in the partner channel to incorporate the Edge name.  We'll try to make that clearer in future price lists.  Thanks for the feedback.
