Input field cancel sign (x)

Hi

I have a somewhat strange behaviour

detected on only a few desktops

in our plant. Originally after you enter

a number of text into the input field

you automatically get a little X at the

end of the input field, allowing you to

delete in the input. Well, this 'X'

is normally displayed, but on a group

of computers running the same application,

this "x" has completely disappeared.

Have some one seen such behaviour?

Regards

Yuval

Hello Yuval,

in addition to the previous (correct) answers: I have tried to look up exactly which IE patch introduced this setting, but could not find any information of it.

Anyway, what I have found are several forums (SAP-independent) where tips are being shared to remove this 'X' button.

An example: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14007655/remove-ie10s-clear-field-x-button-on-certain-inputs .

I know this won't answer your question directly, but (as previously mentioned): this setting is independent from SAP.

Best regards,

Laszlo

Hi

I have passed this question to SAP.

They recommend

The issue should be solved if you update to the latest Unified

Rendering version. Please read the following Wiki on how to perform

the version update:

http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/x/2oQCFQ

Hi Yuval,

This is not related to Web dynpro, Please check the browser you are using on the computers and compare the same with others. am sure you will find the difference.

Please confirm if this solves your query, else let me know for further assistance.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi,

If you are talking about the same field on different computers, these layout differences may be attributed to using different versions of IE , or using chrome etc . It is nothing from webdynpro side, but from the rendering of UI by the browser.
