Hierarchy issue in Account type dimension

Hi Experts,

We are experiencing an issue and I can't find out what it is. The issue is, that every day/2 days, the hierarchy in the account type dimension seems to be come corrupt, causing end users to not be able to execute any reporting anymore. There is a dump in ST22:

Access using a ZERO object reference is not possible. This is happening in program CL_UJAN_BW_HIERARCHY===========CP.

After we process the dimension, either through DM package or from the admin, the issue is resolved.

BPC version is 10.1 SP 4, classic model. BW is BW 7.4 on HANA SP9.

Any ideas?

Hi Tim,

Do you use custom process chain in BW to update account hierarchy in BPC?

Add an extra step in your process chain to run program UJA_REFRESH_DIM_CACHE

SP4 is bit outdated, plan an update to SP08

Thanks. Well, we do not use a custom process chain to load it, it is loaded using the delivered process chain.

We did however now found out that the issue is happening, when in the consolidation model some dimensions are loaded. After these dimensions have been loaded, the Account hierarchy in the planning model becomes corrupt. Processing resolves it. UJA_REFRESH_DIM_CACHE is actually a convenient way to fix this. So for now we have added the step to process the dimension in package link, so the issue is immediately resolved. Still strange that loading an unconnected dimension from another model is causing issues!

We are actually in the process of upgrading, so let's see if this will resolve the issue permanently.
