Hi - a training resource in our team deleted all /usr/sap/ files. Now he tries to log into the server as root and and the original password does not work. What specific steps - besides a full system recovery - can be taken in order to remediate this issue?
Hello Gentlemen.
Is strange that activity 'cause some SAP processes is up in memory, and delete them isn't easy.
Perhaps in this issue, you should:
1. If you got a backup of these SAP directory, just restore it.
2. If not, you should re-install whole SAP system.

Our infrastructure team is performing a re-install but they are also puzzled as to why the entire system went down. The command executed was the following:
find ./* -type d –mtime +1 –exec rm –rf {} \;
It was executed from /usr/sap/
This was for a standard system install of AS Java. Looking at the FS structure here,
trans and all /usr/sap/<SAPSID> directories were deleted. But no root - should that cause such behavior?
Hi Esteban,
can you provide some more info about OS type and is transport directory local or shared?

Tomislav
