Hi Krishna,

.ruc files are compiled and cannot be opened for editing.

hello Ralph ,

So anything which is compiled ( .ruc : cannot be opened ) and anything ( . rul ) can be opened with rule editor ?   so if companies want to modify compiled one as per their need , what is the best way to do that ? any idea

Hi Krishna,

If you want to change a standard rule set you will have to contact SAP as this will be a development project.

Dear Krishna

check e.g.

First thread explains. "ruc" file can not be modified (as they are compiled)

Check may be as well:

in context of:

"can you suggest some simple rule logic which I can build in rule editor and execute new rule ?"

You can just start with some thing "useles".. E.g. if color = "blue" the  odor = "odorless"

I am not sure if you can use rule sets for modifying/adding identifier etc.

The property tree contains lot of properties. Some are of type "compositions" some are of type "class related".

In most cases: to strat with class related rule sets might be easier.

PS: check e.g. online help as well

How the EH&S Expert Works - EH&S Expert - SAP Library

and e.g. : Example: Definition of a Simple Set of Rules - EH&S Expert - SAP Library

PPS: with higher SAP releases SAP optimized the "ruleset approach" (e.g. check Enhancementpackage content);
