How to upgrade CRM 7 EHP4

Hi All,

     My current enviroment is Win2008, CRM7 IDES, NW 7 EHP1 and MSSql 2005 sp3. I want to upgrade CRM7 EHP4.

I install JRE6. Extract the lastest SUM 1.0 SP16 into \usr\sap\crd.

Then logon on via <SID>adm.

Run STARTUP.BAT and keep command console on.

Open IE and enter HTTP://localhost:4239, display "it is not supported..."

Run ..\sdt\exe\DSUGui.bat Directly, display "The Software Update Manager SDT GUI  is no longer supported..."

Read guide, Open URL

https://localhost:1129/lmsl/sumabap/crd/doc/sluigui

OR

http://localhost:1128/lmsl/sumabap/crd/doc/sluigui

but, none of dialog box appears.

which step is wrong or need something else.

Hello Jin,

In case you are trying to start ./DSUGui

1. Run STARTUP

2. Set DISPLAY variable

3. Run DSUGui

Can you see that the HTTP server listening on port 4239 when you start the STARTUP.
Then start the DSUGUI and you will be able to login.
Please provide the latest logs /sum/sdt/logs.

Can you please stop the STARTUP and restart it if you see that the port 4239 is used .

If port 4239 is used, try some other port using the below command.

STARTUP -srvarg=/DSUService/abaptoolport=<port number>

            -srvarg=/DSUService/javatoolport=<port number>

            httpport=<port number> guiport=<port number>

HI Deepa,

Steps which you provided are for old tool which is already out of mainatenance.
Latest version of upgrade tool SUM is SP16 which have different steps.

HI Jin,

Please confirm the below:

1. Have you patched the hostagent to latest version?
2. Have you configured the hostagent as described in the SUM guide. This is done using command
    STARTUP confighostagent <SID>

Once you have done above, then you should be able to access the SL UI with url.

Yes, I have already configed hostagent. and I can open URL

http://sapcrmides:1128/lmsl/sumabap/cds/doc/sluigui/

but, need a stack configuration xml file that is generated by solution manager.

I have not SM system. I have downloaded all enhancement package files from SWDC.

What can I do?

Hi Jin,

It is not possible to upgrade the system without stack.xml .
Also I see that this is a IDES system. Upgrade of IDES system is not supported by SAP !!

Hi Jin,

Since upgrade of IDES is not supported by SAP , I would recommend to install a new system.
SWPM is used for instalaation.

   I appreciate your help very much. I downloaded Ehp4 install package from SWDC.

need UC Kernel 7.5 media file when running SWPM to install EHP4.

But, UC kernel does'nt exist in EHP4 install package.

IF any wrong, please tell me freely.
