Hi All,
Is it possible to hide a selected characteristic/ Dimension/ Column in Analysis for OLAP
Date Controlling Area Profit Center Value
10.02.2016 1000 1001 20
12.02.2016 1001 1002 30
in the above example i want to hide the complete Controlling Area column
Regards,
DTD
Hi Dhanuka
Could you clarify your request please? It looks like you have a crosstab with 3 dimensions stacked on the row axis (Date, Controlling Area and Profit Centre) and one Measure (Value) on the column axis.
If you do not want to see Controlling Area then simply drag it out of the columns area in the Layout Panel or right click on Controlling Area and choose Remove. It you want to see it again just drag it back onto the rows.
But the above is too obvious, which is why I would like you to clarify your request.
Kind Regards

Any idea on how to achieve this?

Hi Dhanuka,
There is no way to hide a column in Analysis for OLAP directly, but if you are connecting to a BEx Query then it is possible to configure a Characteristic to be displayed as 'No Display'. This type of Value Display is supported in Analysis and then you won't see Hierarchy content but you can still chose to view some of its Attributes if needed.
