Hello Guys,

When I am trying to add SAP System in SAP AS JAVA. It is throwing an error and below is screenshot for the error.

Can anyone help me to resolve the issue.

NWDS Version: 7.3

Portal : 7.4

Java: 1.6.45

Can firewall be the reason for this error?

Aswin

Hello Jun,

I have tried that link before and that one also had not helped me.

So, by any chance can this be a firewall issue?

Hello Rohit,

I have checked the logs and nothing has logged there and yes I am able to ping the server from the same system and it is responding. If the issue is with server than the error will be "Unaccessible Host" with the information " The following host name cannot be resolved : hostname". But here the I think the issue is with Instance, the error I am facing is "Unaccessible SAP Instance". Once, please check the screenshot from the above message.

So, is there any thing I can do to check whether the instance is working or not?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Aswin

Hi Aswin,

Please check the following:

1. Hostname entered.

2. Port number entered.

3. Check if the server is up.

4. Check if the port is open for deployment.

5. Try to close and then re-open the NWDS application.

6. Also ensure that the user id you are using has Administrator access on Portal.

Please confirm if the issue is still occurring.

Hi Rohit,

I have checked everything and all were perfect. For double checking that I have cross checked the data with NWA and its fine. I already tried the close and reopen process and nothing happened. Here it doesn't matter with Admin access, because i am just adding the system to NWDS and not deploying any thing. For your better understanding I am adding the screenshot of NWDS -> SAP AS JAVA. Please look into this.

Awaiting for your response.

Thanks and regards,

Aswin

Hi Aswin,

Can you check if any details are captured in the .log file of NWDS in metadata folder.

Also are you able to ping the server from the system where NWDS is being accessed?

Hello Rohit,

I have checked the logs and nothing has registered there.

Yes, I am able to ping the server from the system where NWDS is being accessed.

But, i think the issue is with Instance Number.

So, is there any way to check whether the instance is working in my system or not? (Just link pinging the server)
