Dashboard not getting updated after a universe change SAP 4.1 SP3

Hi guys

We currently have a Products dashboard which is based on a webi query (QAWBS) . The business recently added a new product code so I made a universe change to include the new product .

Now I checked thw Webi query which is the source to the dashboard and its showing the new product. This product appears in the dropdown prompt when the query is run.

Now when  I check my dashboard, it does not reflect the new product in the dropdown ..

Any ideas why??

Hi,

When you say Webi as a source, have you created a BI service over the Webi report and used it?

Is the "Refresh on Load" option checked under Usage tab for this BI service connection inside Data Manager?

Can you try using QAAWS instead of BI service and check?

Hi Yuvraj

Basically its a different issue all together which I just discovered. The dashboard was not getting updated because one of the scheduled report kept getting failed which I have rectified.

The main issue is when I open the Webi source query which has been published as a web service query for the dashboard in rich client, I get this error as the screenshot below.

Even when I go to 'Manage server' and try creating a new connection,I specify the host name and the URL gets generated , until I remove '80' from /8080 in the url, green tick does not appear.

And when I try to point it to the new connection, I get the same error.

I even checked the data connections in the Dashboard designer and strange thing is both my pre-production and production dashboards are pointing to the Dev server location. I have checked the production dashboard and its displaying the production data but I cant understand why the URL is pointing to the Dev location.

Hi Nutty,

Which application server are you using? Tomcat or IIS?

Default port for IIS is 80 and tomcat is 8080 (in case they are not changed).

If tomcat and port 8080 then does http://<servername>:8080/ opens?

What is the URL for BI Launchpad?

Hi Yuvraj

Here is the URL for Launchpad:

http://Servername:80/BOE/BI

Hi Nutty,

dswsbobje is the web application responsible for the BI services and QAAWS.

80 port is generally used for IIS. Seems like it has been changed in your environment.

When you put http://Servername:80, do you get Tomcat home page?

What message do you get when you put below URL on browser:

http://Servername:80/dswsbobje/services/Session

In case you get any error, follow below steps to validate:

1. Log onto http://Servername:80/dswsbobje/ and press Enter

2. Click on Validate link.

3. Check if resource:/managequeryasaservice.wsdl is present as resource.

Also try putting below URL in browser and check if it gives you the list of web services:

http:// [server]:[port]/dswsbobje/qaawsservices

If I am not wrong, it should also list the BI services along with QAAWS.

CMC and InfoView links have been changed in XI 4.1; however, the above links should be same in case I recollect correctly.
