NWDI Upgrade Benefits ?

Hi Folks,

We have NW7.4 portal and NWDI based on NW 7.01 release. We are planning to upgrade the NWDI to NW7.4 release. I guess the support for NW7.01 ends in 2017.

We were not able to find any documentation for NWDI on higher releases like NW7.31 and NW7.4 , and the features or functionality adedd to them in higher releases.

Other then the fact that NWDI is a Java framework for code and VC migration, we were hoping it supports portal content ( *.epa files ) transports in a better way.

Hello AJ,

There are many disadvantages in using NWDI 7.01 but the biggest of them all is that you might not use CM Services. This is possible from NW 7.02.

And yes, with regards to VC / EP development it would be better to use CM Services. It provides you with better "granularity". You might transport your customizations based on Activities. More details in the above document.
